Jeans which ones to wear?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

True religionWith so many brands to choose from how do you know which jeans to buy? and how do you know which ones suit you the most? I was talking to my mate Athos at Cult men’s clothing shop in Crouch End and he said the trend has moved, years ago you may have bought jeans and worn them for a year or 2, now the trend has turned from that to buying a couple of pairs or more a year. Also the styles change so drastically that you need to buy new ones to keep up. I can’t help thinking that on many brands the denim is not up to much. So here are a few of the brands I like and buy for my client’s regularly.
Diesel Krooley prices range from £95-170 the carrot fit is a good one if you like skinny but need a bit more room on the thigh. The Krooley come in a few different washes.
Abercrombie and Fitch stock a number of styles their prices are very good £52 and upwards.
True Religion Men’s Ricky Giant Big T – Medium Savannah straight leg £250 ish
G Star Raw prices range from £75 upwards make fab. jeans they are particularly good for long legs and if you have large thighs their 3301 style. I have bought about 10 pairs of these recently, I love the fit. If you are looking for something more edgy the vintage 5620 tapered slightly drop crotch, so they are great on cool younger guys! If you have a favourite brand or style, let us know, always interested to hear your comments. until next time. Have a good week.

Do men like pyjamas?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

r675925-p676017-p000001-frontThe other evening it was freezing cold…well -2 to be exact and I was wandering around at home and a thought came to mind……Do men like pyjamas?
I don’t mean great looking GQ or Esquire girls wearing pyjamas I mean do they like wearing them!
The original word was Pajamas used during The British Raj which is the name given to the period of British colonial rule in South Asia between 1858 and 1947. This word is originally derived from the Persian word پايجامه Payjama meaning “leg garment”. (taken from Wikipedia)

Now we always think of them as being 2 garments, a loose fitting pair of draw string bottoms and a shirt style top.

PS It is forbidden to wear them in Tesco’s! (story on BBC website)
Check out www.derek-rose.com wonderful fabrics and styles.
Check out www.figleaves.com also Armani. Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger.

So here’s the challenge, I would like to hear all of your views on pyjamas, and the answer to my question, Do men like PJ’s?

Happy Valentines

Happy Valentines

OK eager beavers, I know you want to be appealing and lovable on VDay. Yesterday I posted a few idea’s for that special day. Now I am going to give you a few tips and pointers on stylish behavior….
Arrive for you date on time
Do not complain and scowl if your partner is not ready, beauty can take time!
Compliment your partner on their outfit
Make a reservation, schnell if you have not done so already
When you arrive at the destination if your partner is wearing heels or new Oliver Sweeney’s, don’t insist on making them walk for miles just because you couldn’t find a spot outside. Drop them at the door and then go and park the car.
For goodness sake be charming, no boring conversation about domestics, your job, your car, your family, in fact nothing your…..focus on the wonderful time you are having with them.
Do not get drunk and leer at the person on the next table or pass notes to others when your partner is in the loo
No clicking your finger at the waiter or waitress

Now all that said and done…have a wonderful time Love can be so fleeting or so lasting :)

What is Personal styling?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Personal Styling is not only about a change of wardrobe and your external appearance; it’s more of an impact on your self confidence. Most importantly the aim is to make you feel comfortable… the clothes and shoes you are wearing should make you feel confident, attractive and relaxed. The majority of people dress and have dressed the same for years on end. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and not move on with your changing body shape and indeed the changing decades. A personal stylist will take a fresh look at you and your wardrobe and suggest different ideas to create the look you’ve always wanted. Styling is a clever way of dressing to bring out the best in you.
